My Old Hittite Start RoR - DM _JaGuAr_LeaDeR September 2, 2002

In this write up I will only be describing my start. I will not be explaining how to make an army or what units to use. I used this start about a year ago, but I decided to change to the three town center start since this one is kind of slow on producing villagers. Though don't get me wrong, this start does have advantages. With this one you can get heavy elephants nearly as quick as possible and land grab quick. It is also slightly faster on getting elephants out first, which is good for town center rushing.

Now to the start, first thing you want to do is queue 20~ villagers in your town center. Next take one of your villagers and make a house. Then take the second idle villager and make a storage pit. So now you should have one idle villager left, and the other two building.

Now with that one idle villager, build stables around the map and your opponent. As your building stables, the two villagers building the storage pit and house will finish. Right when they finish, upgrade Iron Shield in the storage pit (for heavy elephants). Now you have two more idle villagers, send them to go help build stables. So now you have three villagers building stables around the map. As your sending them to help build stables, one villager will pop out of the town center.

Take the villager that just came out of the town center and make three other town centers (I prefer the square pattern). While your doing this do not neglect your stables that are being built, as soon as a stable is built make sure to queue a couple elephants.

Soon another villager will appear, send him to help build town centers.

Once again, another villager will appear soon, send him also to help build town centers. As soon as the second town center is completed make sure to queue up another 20~ villagers. While all this is happening do not forget about the stables you are building, as soon as they are built make elephants in them. Right when an elephant comes out, send it directly toward your opponent, straight towards where his town center should be.

Anyway, time to pick up the pace. As soon as another villager appears make a temple near your town centers. Also as soon as the third and fourth town centers are completed queue up another 20~ villagers in them. Don't forget to upgrade heavy elephants in a stable as soon as your Iron Shield upgrade finishes in the storage pit. When Iron Shield is finished upgrading, upgrade Chain Mail in the storage pit.

At this point, with the villagers that have been coming out of your town centers you should be sending them to help build stables and towers around the map. When the temple is finished make about four priests in it, these are used to convert elephants or whatever your opponent may rush your town with.

So now you should have something that looks like this. You should have 20~ villagers queued in all 4 of your towncers, about four priests in the temple, Iron Shield and Chain Mail researched in your storage pit, heavy elephants upgrade, stables/towers being built around the map, elephants being made in your completed stables, and attacking your opponent!

You can take it easy now, there is no specific order on how I do anything after this except for how I do my upgrades. The final thing you will want to do is make a Granary, Siege Workshop, Government Center(s), and Market.

My order of upgrades:

Siege Workshop:
1. Catapult
2. Heavy Catapult

Granary:
1. Guard Tower
2. Ballista Tower

Government Center:
1. Ballistics
2. Engineering
3. Alchemy

Market:
1. Siege Craft
2. Craftsmanship
3. Coinage
4. Irrigation (if I predict it will be a long game)

Here is the completed picture (it doesn't have to be this pretty and symmetrical).

Hopefully you understood all that. If not, you can probably just look at the pictures and figure it out.
