The _JaGuAr_ Clan was created September 4, 1999 and first played the game Age of Empires: Rise of Rome on the MSN Gaming Zone.

    The clan was originally named JaGuAr_. However, shortly after the creation I decided to change the name to _JaGuAr_ in order to distinguish ourselves from a clan named JaGuar_ that supposedly played the original Age of Empires.

Did you know...
    JaGuAr once had an RM division (that played rated)! That's right _JaGuAr_Emperor (_Dark_Phalanx) once lead an RM part of JaGuAr. Although it only peaked at 3 members and only lasted for a week or two. Eventually all the members decided _JaGuAr_ wasn't for them and went to the _Dark_ clan. The moral of this story is don't branch out your clan.

     In April 2000 JaGuAr had a training clan named CouGaR_. The plan was to put all the people who tried out for JaGuAr and didn't make it, into the training clan. Then we would do training sessions with the members. After a few days it had 2 members but I realized it was stupid and it would be a lot of work to keep it going. So I decided to cancel the whole thing.

The name...
    People often ask me what the clan is named after: the car Jaguar, the animal jaguar, or the football team Jaguar. I didn't have anything in mind when I made the clan, I just thought it was a nice name. I actually got the idea from the Atari Jaguar, which was on the floor at the time I was thinking of clan names. So choose which ever works for you, it's not really named after any specific one.

The creator...
    It all started in 1998 when I began playing the original Command & Conquer on Sega Saturn. I would spend hours everyday playing. Eventually I started getting bored with Command & Conquer and went looking for another RTS game. For some reason Age of Empires: Rise of Rome caught my eye. I played Rise of Rome single player for months but then I realized I could play it online at the MSN Gaming Zone and so I did. It was the first game I ever played online.

    I started off using the name jcson2 and of course I wasn't too good. I remember making my little perfectly shaped town and surrounding it with a wall. Then a player would come destroy it and I would scurry off some of my villagers and begin constructing an identical town some where else on the map.

    Anyway I got better and one day I decided to tryout for a "clan" in early 1999. The clan I chose to join was wew_* (World Empire Warriors). Why did I choose them? Well for no real good reason other than they were the only ones doing tryouts at the time. I tried out and made it in. I was given the name wew_jcson_Lv8 by wew_boss_Lv18 who was the leader. The Lv at the end of the name stood for level which was suppose to indicate your skill from 1-20, 20 being the most skilled. The funny thing was, I could beat "boss" and yet I was ranked lower. Anyway, I was a loyal wew member for several months but eventually saw things that in the clan that needed improvement. I started off by redesigning our web site which boss had made. Boss got wind of what I was doing and felt threatened. He felt I was trying to take over his clan so he decided to make a new clan, "wew2," which I would be leader of. I then became wew2_jcson_Lv20 but that didn't last for long. I figured I might as well just start a clan of my own.

    Thus JaGuAr was created September 4, 1999. In the beginning the clan name was JaGuAr_* and my name was JaGuAr_Leader. After a couple weeks someone informed that there was a JaGuar_ clan that played the original Age of Empires. So I decided to change the clan name to _JaGuAr_* and I became _JaGuAr_Leader. Later I realized my name looked kind of boring so I changed the capitalization's to _JaGuAr_LeaDeR.

    Sadly rough times lay ahead and on July 31, 2000 my _JaGuAr_LeaDeR name was banned for 6 months due to an incident in the help chat room, but that couldn't keep me down.

    I remade my name as _JaGuAr_XLeaDeR, but that name was misleading, and people thought I had quit _JaGuAr_. So I made my name _JaGuAr_LeaDeRX. Tragically though the names _JaGuAr_XLeaDeR and _JaGuAr_LeaDeRX got permanently banned within a few weeks of there creation.

    Once again I was forced to change, and this time I chose _JaGuAr_LeaDeR0. After a couple months _JaGuAr_LeaDeR0 was banned and again I had to make a new name.

    This time I chose _JaGuAr_LeaDeR8. You may be wondering why I chose 8. Well, it was because over the years so many people had copied and tried to imitate my name, that 8 was the first number available after 0. I continued to play _JaGuAr_LeaDeR8 for about 2 months until my _JaGuAr_LeaDeR name was unbanned.

    Finally On January 27, 2001 my _JaGuAr_LeaDeR name was unbanned and I continue to use it today.
